Job Description

During this exciting period for this esteemed special school, we are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for a qualified professional with a passion for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who shares our vision and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy support to children and young people aged 4-19 with complex autism, learning difficulties, and challenging behaviors in both day and residential school settings.
  • Collaborate with a trans-disciplinary team to ensure each pupil’s needs are understood, accurately planned for, and closely monitored.
  • Advise teaching staff on pupils’ development to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Offer direct and indirect therapy for individuals and groups of pupils.
  • Provide advice and support to our social care staff for residential pupils.

Requirements:

  • Suitably qualified Occupational Therapist with significant experience post-qualification.
  • Passion for working with children and young people with SEND.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide both direct and indirect therapy.

Please note: This position is not suitable for newly qualified Occupational Therapists.
