You’ll work within a specialist college environment supporting students aged 16+ with learning or communication challenges. The role involves supporting students with individualized care plans and promoting positive behaviour, while ensuring low intervention and a trauma-informed approach to behaviour support.
We are looking for a SEND Teacher to inspire and guide young people as they transition from special school into adulthood. You will work with SEND learners, supporting their educational and personal development, and creating adaptable learning strategies that help them thrive. You will lead a team of teachers, tutors, and learning support staff, working in small classes with a high level of student support.

Learners follow personalized pathways and have access to a variety of therapies, including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and assistive technology. You will help students develop not only academically but also in self-advocacy, confidence, and resilience as they prepare for life beyond college.

Criteria
  • Experience working with SEND children and young people
  • Qualified to Level 5 or higher in FE Teaching or willing to achieve
  • QTS, Cert Ed, or DTTLS Qualification required
