Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO), job vacancy, close to the Redwick area of South Gloucestershire. Located close to Redwick and Severn Beach area commutable from the M4, M49 and A403 Roads or just 24 minutes from Bristol Centre along the M4 and M32.

Requirements
  • All candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
  • A recognised SENCO Qualification
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of working with SEN & SEND practice.
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to challenging / behaviour.
  • This job vacancy is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act therefore all applicants must declare all criminal convictions and cautions (including spent).

This is a bespoke School for 7-19-year-olds with Autism.  This is a SEN school that focusses on ensuring their students achieve their goals and ambitions for their future. They provide education to Children & Young People from Key Stage 2 through to Post 16

Your Duties

As their SENCO you will be an important member of the team, supporting the Headteacher in managing the school’s special education needs, both operationally and raising pupils achievements.  You will be responsible for the teaching and learning for SEN across the school. 
  • Identifying and monitor effective teaching and learning approaches.
  • Track data, identify trends and provide reports for annual reviews and reporting.
  • Keep in touch with other schools to ensure continuity and smooth transition.
  • Work with the transitions team, therapy and class team for new starters.
  • Set targets for raising achievements among the pupils.
