About the Role
Social Care & Education Jobs are proud to have been chosen as a recruitment partner for this unique opportunity. We are seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant & Support Worker to join a fantastic case management team, supporting a young gentleman with cerebral palsy, complex needs, and communication difficulties within his own home and the community. This role involves collaborating with other Support Workers, family members, management, and a team of private therapists to aid the client’s ongoing rehabilitation.

This gentleman, known for his fantastic sense of humour and adventurous spirit, enjoys participating in day-to-day activities, outings, events, and holidays.

Duties

  • Assisting with personal care tasks such as dressing, bathing, medication management, and using a hoist.
  • Supporting the client in various daytime activities, including attending day centres, playing wheelchair basketball, and attending gigs.
  • Researching events and activities of interest to the client.
  • Accompanying the client on weekend mini breaks.
  • Follow the client-specific support plan and company policies.
  • Participate in the induction program and ongoing training.
  • Provide out-of-hours support when required.
  • Assist with mobility, personal care, and daily activities.
  • Engage in community activities and support the client in social settings.
  • Assist in planning and attending outings and holidays.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a care/support role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Availability to work on a rota basis.
  • Flexibility and punctuality.
  • Full driving licence with confidence to drive a wheelchair-adapted vehicle.
  • Good sense of humour and team spirit.
  • Passionate, caring, enthusiastic, patient, and non-judgemental.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as manual handling.
  • IT literacy for note-keeping.
