Location: This position is based 30 minutes outside of Bournemouth via the A338 and commutable from the Ferndown, Blandford Forum, Bear Cross, Ringwood and surrounding areas.

Duties
As Deputy Head you will be the Secondary Lead and an inspirational leader. Duties will include:- Support the Head of School whilst also being responsible for SENDCO.
- Working with the Head, Principal and Senior Leaders providing professional leadership.
- Recruitment, developing policies and implementing them.
- Leading meetings and communicating the schools’ vision compellingly.
- Support CPD for classroom-based staff.
- Curriculum, progress, achievement and qualifications and personal development of pupils.
- Leadership & Management.
- Lead Teaching & Learning and behaviour and attendance.
- Safeguarding to support the SLT and the safety of students.

- A recognised teacher training qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE/QTS or QTS/Teaching Diploma).
- National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordinator (NASENCO) or within 18 months of starting the position.
- Thorough knowledge of the curriculum and adaptation to pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
- Experience of working and teaching young people with ASD and an SEN Environment.
- Excellent IT Skills
- Experience in a leadership role and raising standards.
- Experience of motivating and managing staff teams.
