The School

We are recruiting on behalf of a Specialist education School for children and young people living with Social, Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD), Special Educational Needs (SEN) and learning disabilities. They have an impressive network of schools and colleges with a talented multidisciplinary team to enable every young person to develop their abilities and create a positive future.

You will be joining a school with modern facilities creating a special environment for children to learn and flourish. They believe in the young people and giving them every opportunity to achieve their goals and the life they want for themselves. The students have complex needs typically related to Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism and other conditions.  They utilise high-quality teaching with therapy to provide personalised support to the children. The classrooms are modern, well-equipped and they have lots of other facilities for the children to enjoy.


About You / The Role

You will be an inspirational leader, or experienced Teacher looking for the next step in your career.   As their Assistant Headteacher, you will work alongside the Head in helping to develop the school in accordance with their values and their development plans. You will provide leadership and take overall responsibility for Pastoral Care across the school.  This will include leading on Behaviour and attitudes, personal development attendance, well being and safeguarding our pupils welfare.

Criteria
  • Experience with SEMH and/or ASC Education Provision.
  • A recognised teacher training qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE/QTS or QTS/Teaching Diploma).
  • A proven track record in teaching with a SEN environment.
  • Excellent IT Skills
  • Experience in a leadership role and raising standards.
  • A full driving licence.
